For over eight years Stephen J. Szklarski's scope of work within the film industry
includes working as a director, producer, script and pre-sales consultant and, sales executive in the areas  of made-for-television films, direct-to-home videos and theatrical releases.

Currently, he has directed the documentary titled "Union Square," set for theatrical release in 2004, which depicts the lives of seven heroin addicted and homeless twenty-something year-olds that are a part of a commune in New York City's Union Square.  Union Square premiered at the 2003 Cannes Film Festival.  In 1998, he wrote and directed his first feature film, "A PACKING SUBURBIA" which, was theatrically released in the United States and Canada and released under Suburban Filmworks, Inc., a company he founded.

In response to the disparities of independent film maker representation, Stephen J. Szklarski created and is the president of Alliance International Pictures, a dynamic domestic and international film distribution company with keen insight into current distribution trends coupled with an understanding of the challenges faced by filmmakers today. 

Stephen J. Szklarski was born and raised in Bellport, Long Island and currently lives in New York City.
